Wild Baccarat new tables in Las Vegas

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Look for a wild baccarat adventure? You may want to consider one of the various different Las Vegas baccarat casinos out there which are often centered on certain special events.

For instance, Las Vegas celebrates a special event every single year-the Chinese New Year. During Las Vegas Chinese New Year celebrations within the months of January and February the entire city turns red.

Dragons and Chinese folk art become symbols of ethnicity during this time as well. Furthermore, gambler’s pockets (hopefully) usually turn green this time of the year.

Other casinos offer live entertainment on the premises for their guests. For instance, one the Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino has Bette Midler scheduled to as a performing artist, and Jerry Seinfeld the comedian is expected to appear on stage at the Palace as well.

Another entertainment option is the Baccarat Bar at the Bellagio. Here you can hear lively piano music while deeply involved in your baccarat play. The Baccarat Bar is also known for its wide variety of cocktails available as well.

If you want to have a wild time and are just learning how to play baccarat, you may want to consider a beginner-friendly place. At the Venetian Resort and Hotel in Las Vegas they have plenty of room for visiting beginner to intermediate baccarat players.

There are a variety of other casinos who offer baccarat tables-some of which are fairly new. For instance, you might want to try the Four Seasons Hotel which offers very busy tables to play on.

You will never run out of events and entertainment to participate in while you are in Las Vegas. That is, if you can break away from that baccarat table to enjoy any of those them.

You may end up trying your hand at other casino games while you are taking that time off of work to hopefully win you enough money not have to go back.

Americans discover the game and don’t let go

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Baccarat was believed to be originated from Italy in the late 1400s. It has always been a game associated with movie celebrities and high societies.

It originally was played among royalty in France and Italy during this time. It was not until quite awhile later that it became popular in America. However, when it did it began to really take off.

Why is it Called “Baccarat”?

The word “baccarat” means “zero” in at least a couple different languages. “Baccarat” or “zero” is the lowest (or worst) hand a player can acquire during game play. Nine is the best, and nine usually beats all in the exception of a tie.

The Spread of the Game

Since the creation of baccarat, it has been opened up to a variety of different audiences. This game has spread all over the world, including to North America. Although it may not be as popular in the casinos as online (as some would say anyway) it is still one of the fastest-growing American card-gaming sports.

One of the many reasons this game has caught on in this country is because of the low house advantage during game play. This allows person playing the chance to win big without as much risk as in other card games.

By the time baccarat (first as a comb of the European version, including “chemin de fer”) hit the United States it became such a loved game that an American version of it is now spreading the globe. It was first introduced in the United States in the 1950s.

An offshoot of the game has been created as well: Mini Baccarat. The Mini Baccarat and the American Baccarat are played with similar rules. The number one difference between the two is the size of the table.

The regular American Baccarat table is usually constructed in a stretched oblong-shape. The dealers usually sit between the sides of the persons betting.

Each side is numbered with seven spaces, excluding 13 on the side marked 8 through 15.  The other side is simply numbered 1-7. In case you did not know, 13 is thought of to be an unlucky number, and that is why it is not included (an old superstition).

The Mini Baccarat table is similar in shape to a Blackjack table. Only seven positions are showing versus the 14 showing on the American Baccarat table.

In both versions of the game players decide whether they are going to bet that the banker or player is going to win. The other option is to bet that the player is going to tie the banker.

Baccarat - 30% of the casino revenue

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Baccarat is becoming more of a money-making game in casinos. Gambling houses have earned up to 30% of their revenue via baccarat play.

In fact, some houses have even earned more than that. One had earned about 46% of its earnings from this game. What is it that makes this game so popular?

One of the reasons baccarat played in various forms is so popular is because of the low risk involved in play. It is said that the chance of winning is quite a bit higher than if a person was betting on poker, blackjack or other casino game.

Baccarat has also been popular for one other reason. It attracts persons who are heavy hitters. Heavy hitters are people who lay large amounts of money down on a hand in order to win big. Many baccarat players have walked away with thousands.

Advantage baccarat players have even walked away with more. Of course, there are varying opinions on the legitimacy of practices such as card counting and working off of dealer mistakes. However, the truth is they do pay off, and advantage gambling is legal in many areas of the world.

Some may ask how casinos make such large revenues from baccarat play. Well, one of the ways is through charging commission for winnings. Usually a commission of 5% is paid out to the house upon each player’s win.

Imagine a winner scoring 1,000.00. A total of 5% of that would equal 50.00. That along with losing bets is how a majority of it is made. If you count prices paid for drinks, dining, and other indirect costs the revenue for casinos is way over the top.

Online casinos fare pretty well also. You can research reports regarding online casino earnings via your favorite web browser search.

If you are interested in becoming a baccarat game and/or casino operator you can count on a house win average of a little over 2%. That may not seem like much. However, you can also win bit on ties, which usually the casino house wins a little over 14% of the time.

Most Old-timers casino gamblers never tried playing baccarat

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Most old-timers casino gamblers have never tried playing Baccarat. This could be for a variety of reasons.

Perhaps baccarat was not available in the area where they lived. Either that or perhaps they (Shhh…Don’t tell anyone!) gambled underground and baccarat was not part of the play.

Whatever the reason is that certain people from previous generations have not had the pleasure of playing baccarat, there are reasons they would want to start now. One of the major reasons is the fact that senior citizens generally like the idea of a “sure thing”.

If more new about it to them it would be almost like investing in retirement stock. They would think so especially if you told them the house odds of winning are only about 2% for single bets and 15% for ties.

If you are a senior citizen you may want to consider baccarat as an option. It would be a change from bingo, poker, or Blackjack. Furthermore, if you learn to bet at a slow and steady pace you may even walk away with a nice chunk of change.

If you need practice first, or you are just learning the game, the internet is a great place to go to find this info. You can read articles covering the basics of baccarat, such as what the rules are and how to play it.

You can also read more advance baccarat play information, such as how to bet strategically on the game. You can then find simulated online baccarat software to use to help further sharpen your online baccarat skills.

Additionally, if you are a people person and you like the excitement of the casino crowd you may consider playing in person. In fact, often a special section is designated for serious baccarat players, and there are also places in casinos for beginners for mini-baccarat.
