Most Old-timers casino gamblers never tried playing baccarat

March 31st, 2007

Most old-timers casino gamblers have never tried playing Baccarat. This could be for a variety of reasons.

Perhaps baccarat was not available in the area where they lived. Either that or perhaps they (Shhh…Don’t tell anyone!) gambled underground and baccarat was not part of the play.

Whatever the reason is that certain people from previous generations have not had the pleasure of playing baccarat, there are reasons they would want to start now. One of the major reasons is the fact that senior citizens generally like the idea of a “sure thing”.

If more new about it to them it would be almost like investing in retirement stock. They would think so especially if you told them the house odds of winning are only about 2% for single bets and 15% for ties.

If you are a senior citizen you may want to consider baccarat as an option. It would be a change from bingo, poker, or Blackjack. Furthermore, if you learn to bet at a slow and steady pace you may even walk away with a nice chunk of change.

If you need practice first, or you are just learning the game, the internet is a great place to go to find this info. You can read articles covering the basics of baccarat, such as what the rules are and how to play it.

You can also read more advance baccarat play information, such as how to bet strategically on the game. You can then find simulated online baccarat software to use to help further sharpen your online baccarat skills.

Additionally, if you are a people person and you like the excitement of the casino crowd you may consider playing in person. In fact, often a special section is designated for serious baccarat players, and there are also places in casinos for beginners for mini-baccarat.

Some say if you know the percentage of casino house edge as well as how to implement various betting system theories it can increase your chances of winning. Whether this is just a psychological boost or real live advice is for you to decide.

For instance, the American Baccarat the house edge system is as follows: The house edge is 1.29% for bets on the players hand and 1.01% on the on the banker’s hand. When there is a bet on a tie the house advantage is 15.5%.

The house edge percentages for other types of baccarat such as baccarat banque or baccarat chemin de fer the percentage of casino house winning is usually quite low as well. This is what makes the game more attractive to person as an alternative to other card games such as poker.

What the above mentioned house edge percentages mean to you: For every $100.00 you would lose a certain amount of money. For example, for every $100.00 you spend you would lose approximately $1.01 if you bet on the banker’s hand or $15.50 if you bet on the tie (in American baccarat).

Furthermore, you may have heard that some people say that when you bet on both the banker and the house that you are gaining an advantage. However, based upon to the above stats you may want to reconsider.

Either way, keep in mind that these percentages will not predict exactly when you win. Regardless of mathematics it will be hard to determine what your next hand will be. Nevertheless, people swear by them and many people have won using these theories.

Learning the Rules might Help you create your own Strategy

You can learn various baccarat play strategies from experts. However, there is nothing better than being able to design your own system of play that will help you win.

The strategies you use baccarat depends upon which type of game is played. This article pertains to American Baccarat. The American baccarat game setup is like this: a stretched oval-shaped table with seven positions on both sides (numbered 1-7 one side and 8-12, 14, 15 on the other). Two dealers sit at the center of the table.

Usually six to eight decks of cards are distributed throughout various positions on the baccarat table. The recipient of the cards (each baccarat player) then take hold of the cards and determine point value of them. The player with point values closest to nine without busting wins.

It is very difficult to bust in this game, which is one aspect of baccarat to remember when betting. The reason why it is difficult to get more than nine is this: the numbered cards (ace to nine) are assigned point values 1 to 9 respectively, and the face cards (jack, queen, king) are numbered 0.

The cards are first shuffled before dealt by a team of two dealers, a ladderman, and a caller. Then, the cards are given to a player to cut, and the dealer reveals the top card of a deck and this number determines which cards will be removed from the deck.

After the cards are shuffled and cut, the players bet on one of three hands-the banker’s, the player’s or the tie (banker and player hand is the same).

By the way, the “banker” is the player who is in charge of dealing the cards. The “caller” is the one who determines the outcome of hands, and who calls “no more bets”.

Once the preliminary card distribution is done and “no more bets” is called. Then, the shoe (apparatus that holds the decks of cards) is passed to position 1 on the table. This first person becomes the “banker”.

During the first round of play, a player will pick up a card from the shoe and hands it to the caller face down. The caller keeps it or gives it to the person with the most money on the table.

The second card goes next to the shoe, as it is the banker’s card, and a third card is passed on. The last card stays with the banker along with the first card.
